Oil painting on canvas mounted on a 40 Marine stretcher. This painting is inspired by a poem from my own book, soon to be published, La Belleza que Necesito (The Beauty I Need). It is about life and death: the cypress symbolises the ascent to the sky, which is why it is planted in cemeteries, and the child's finger, as a first way of communicating, also points to the sky. The circle of life and death closing.

Three green cypresses over violet mountains and a burning yellow ground, and below, drawn in a single line, a child raising his finger. The two lines that form the poem live together on the canvas: «Los cipreses apuntan al cielo» (The cypresses point to the sky) and «El dedo del niño señala al cielo» (The child's finger points to the sky). Painting and poetry in one image, a preview of Sáez's first illustrated poetry book.

One original. One owner.
