A set of five Chinese ink drawings — 32 × 26 cm each. Inspired by the rural world: the typical black cat sleeping in the barred window of a village house. Sáez draws this series with the economy of someone who has spent time looking at something small and found it large. Five views of the same subject — five moods within the same stillness.
Juanjo Sáez is a Barcelona-based author, illustrator and animation director with over 30 years of professional practice. His animated feature Heavies Tendres has won awards at Fantasia Montreal, Animest Bucharest and Anilogue Budapest. His book El Arte has been translated into six languages; its original notebooks were acquired by the MNAC.
