This work is a tribute to Lorca and to the band Los Planetas, based on their song adapting Lorca's poem «El manantial» (The Spring), a poem from his youth that holds a profound meaning of art for such an early age. The song by Los Planetas opens their album «Las canciones del agua» (2022): twelve minutes long, the longest of their career, which reached number one in sales in Spain.

The poem belongs to Federico García Lorca's early youth, written around 1919, before the poet from Granada had turned twenty-one. In it he tries to understand the secret of newborn water and decides, almost as a prophecy, to give his life to poetry and to nature. A century later, Los Planetas, also from Granada, recovered that text to open an album whose very title comes from the poem's imagery. This painting gathers that dialogue between the poet, the band and the landscape: the flowing spring, the poplar, the river plain.

Oil on canvas mounted on stretcher, French standard size 50F (116 × 89 cm / 45.7 × 35 in). One original. One owner.
