Balance is not stillness. It is the continuous act of adjusting.

An oil painting on a thick stretcher — a work based on music, philosophy and the act of accepting ourselves with our mistakes, and reaching that point where everything finds its place. Not perfection. Balance: the dynamic state where opposing forces hold each other in tension and produce something stable, something liveable.

Sáez has always been interested in the frontier between the visual and the musical — where colour becomes sound and form becomes rhythm. This is one of those works: painted with the same directness that music demands, without revision, without second-guessing. The result is an image that breathes.

Acquired by a private collector for €1,250.

Juanjo Sáez is a Barcelona-based author, illustrator and animation director with over 30 years of professional practice. His animated feature Heavies Tendres has won awards at Fantasia Montreal, Animest Bucharest and Anilogue Budapest. His book El Arte has been translated into six languages; its original notebooks were acquired by the MNAC (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya).

Óleo sobre bastidor grueso — una obra basada en la música, la filosofía y el hecho de aceptarnos con nuestros errores, y alcanzar ese punto donde todo encuentra su lugar. No la perfección. El equilibrio: ese estado dinámico donde las fuerzas opuestas se sostienen mutuamente y producen algo estable, algo habitable.

A Sáez siempre le ha interesado la frontera entre lo visual y lo musical — donde el color se convierte en sonido y la forma en ritmo. Esta es una de esas obras: pintada con la misma inmediatez que exige la música, sin revisión, sin segunda intención. El resultado es una imagen que respira.

Adquirida por un coleccionista privado por 1.250€.
