Oil on paper. Life is movement — this is a maxim for Sáez, who has reinvented himself several times across three decades of professional practice. As illustrator, author, animation director, radio host and painter, he has never stayed still. This painting carries that conviction: not illustrated, but embodied.
Juanjo Sáez is a Barcelona-based artist with over 30 years of professional practice. His animated feature Heavies Tendres has won awards at Fantasia Montreal, Animest Bucharest and Anilogue Budapest. His book El Arte has been translated into six languages; its original notebooks were acquired by the MNAC (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya).
