A porrón — the traditional Catalan wine vessel — intervened with enamel paint by Juanjo Sáez. A unique piece, signed, with certificate of authenticity. Sáez applies to this object the same care and intentionality he applies to a canvas: the result is neither ceramic nor painting, but something between — a functional object that has stopped being purely functional.
Juanjo Sáez is a Barcelona-based author, illustrator and animation director with over 30 years of professional practice. His animated feature Heavies Tendres has won awards at Fantasia Montreal, Animest Bucharest and Anilogue Budapest. His book El Arte has been translated into six languages; its original notebooks were acquired by the MNAC.
