Pintura al óleo sobre tela. Mide 100x81cm. A veces ser padres es mantener a tu hijo protegido de los espíritus y fantasmas familiares que todos tenemos y arrastramos. No pasarle nada que le lastre y no le pertenezca y mantener la pureza y lograr que tenga un lugar donde volver cuando sea mayor. Que pueda volver a su infancia como lugar seguro lejos del bosque oscuro familiar, si es que lo hubo, o lejos de sus sombras.
Sobre un fondo de manchas de color que funciona como un mapa, tres figuras esquemáticas rotuladas a mano: La Madre, El Padre, El hijo. Una muralla de ladrillo cruza el cuadro y protege el mundo de arriba del bosque verde de abajo, donde está escrito el título. Pintura y escritura conviven en la tela, como en toda la obra de Sáez.

Oil painting on canvas. It measures 100x81cm. Sometimes being a parent means keeping your child protected from the family spirits and ghosts we all carry and drag along. Passing on nothing that would weigh them down or that does not belong to them, preserving their purity, and making sure they have a place to return to when they grow up. That they can return to their childhood as a safe place, far from the dark family forest, if there ever was one, or far from its shadows.
Over a background of colour patches that works like a map, three schematic figures labelled by hand: The Mother, The Father, The Child. A brick wall crosses the canvas and shields the world above from the green forest below, where the title is written. Painting and writing live together on the canvas, as in all of Sáez's work.
