The hate comment is written directly on the work, in Sáez's own handwriting: "Mi hijo pequeño es artista mejor que tú" — "My little son is a better artist than you." Someone sent this to wound. He took the words, surrounded them with an explosion of colour in Manley wax crayons, signed it, and offered it to whoever wants to live with the transformation.

This work belongs to a series born from hate comments received on Instagram and social media. The gesture is simple and radical: take the cruelty, make it visible, surround it with beauty, and sell it. The person who sent it to destroy ends up financing a piece of art. The words that were meant to diminish become something someone will want on their wall for the rest of their life.

Juanjo Sáez is a Barcelona-based author, illustrator and animation director with over 30 years of professional practice. His animated feature Heavies Tendres has won awards at Fantasia Montreal, Animest Bucharest and Anilogue Budapest. His book El Arte has been translated into six languages; its original notebooks were acquired by the MNAC (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya).
