Chinese ink and anilines, painted with Chinese brushes on Fabriano paper — 350g, 70 × 50 cm (28 × 20 in). The anilines open the image, give it air. The ink holds the structure. Together they produce a landscape that is clearly interior — not a place you can visit, but one you recognise.
Juanjo Sáez is a Barcelona-based author, illustrator and animation director with over 30 years of professional practice. His animated feature Heavies Tendres has won awards at Fantasia Montreal, Animest Bucharest and Anilogue Budapest. His book El Arte has been translated into six languages; its original notebooks were acquired by the MNAC (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya).

El mundo interior siempre ha sido mi referente y en muchos dibujos intento reflejarlo.
Tinta china y anilinas con pincel chino, sobre papel de alta calidad Fabriano de 70 × 50 cm. Las anilinas abren la imagen, le dan aire. La tinta sostiene la estructura. Juntas producen un paisaje claramente interior: no un lugar que puedas visitar, sino uno que reconoces.
